Six Word Memoir – Creative Writing Prompt

Six Word Memoir – Creative Writing Prompt

Hey, everyone! I was browsing Pinterest the other day and found a writing prompt called the Six Word Memoir. So I instantly thought of six words to describe my life and it applies to so many different things.

Six Word Memoir – Creative Writing Prompt

I thought this prompt was so cool because it forces you to only choose six words to basically describe yourself. Ok, maybe not describe, because that’s not what a memoir is. A memoir is your background. It’s your memories, your knowledge, your life as you experienced it.

Those six words, “I’m the girl who survived you” speaks so many volumes as to not only who I am, but to who I was. In the past, there have been many events that were traumatic or amazing. Each of those situations leads to different outcomes, which I survived and thrived.

I’ve survived exes, abuse, moving, teenagehood, you name it. I have been through a lot and each time I come out stronger. I come out being the person I was meant to be.

Now, it’s your turn. In six words, write your memoir. Let me know what it is; I would love to see your creation.

  1. Trying hard to accomplish my goals.

Oooh, this is awesome. Love it!

  2. Ooooo I love this! It’s a great sorry starter… *whistles nonchalantly* Not like I’m going to be an author or anything, but on the off chance that the story goes somewhere and I post it on the blog, can I use that?
Now I’m really curious… Survived you? Who’s you? And why have you survived them/us? (You don’t have to answer but this is REALLY DEEP)

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Yeah, sure! Go for it! Take inspiration anywhere you can. 🙂

I’ve actually survived quite a few things that can be considered ‘you’. Two failed marriages prove that; one was abusive, and the other was a chronic cheater.

I think most of all, I survived myself. I had a rough time when I was in high school and even for some of the years that followed. I held onto a lot of hate towards a specific event in my life, for many years. I knew I had to let it go, but in the process, I had to realize I was a survivor. 😉

      1. Thanks!
Wow! You definitely are! *virtual high five* That’s some tough luck you’ve got there… Hope your life is a bit more easygoing now!

        1. Kendra Kendra says:

Thanks! 🙂 It’s much easier now.
