A Wedding for Christmas – Review
A Wedding for Christmas
(Twilight, Texas #7)
by: Lori Wilde
Released: October 25, 2016
The whole town is ready for the holidays: The Cookie Club is baking, Main Street glitters with lights, the carolers sing . . .There’s even a Christmas wedding.
When bodyguard Ryder Southerland sees his best friend’s sister Katie at an L.A. Christmas party, he mistakes the slinky blonde for a celebrity stalker and tackles her. Then they tackle each other . . . at his place. The next morning, Katie’s gone, and Ryder tells himself it’s for the best. It isn’t. Now, one Christmas later, Ryder’s falling for the woman he’s been missing in the town he hasn’t missed at all . . .
Katie Cheek’s outgrown the romantic fantasies she had about Ryder when she was fifteen. Katie’s packed their hot night away in a box labeled “fling”—or tried to. But Twilight’s bad boy is the best man in her brother’s wedding. And up-close and personal, Ryder’s impossible to ignore. So Katie can either go into hiding—or surrender to Christmas magic.
I enjoyed Lori Wilde’s last Twilight, Texas novel: I’ll Be Home for Christmas (review in link).
Welcome back to Twilight, Texas!
This one freaking rocked my socks off! I gobbled it up in a roughly a day. It was that fan-freaking-tastic.
Lori’s newest book is packed with heat hot enough to melt the snow. Well, that is, if it snowed in Texas. It’s enough to fog up the car windows. There is no avoiding this sweet couple. Oh my.
I absolutely adored this Katie novel. I got a glimpse of Katie in the last one, so I was happy to know there was a Katie book. It was interesting to see the other side of the Christmas swap.
It starts with a scene at the same time Gabi is entering Twilight, but Katie is in LA. A smoking hot scene with Ryder, then we’re at a year later. SO much as happened within that year, Katie is a different person. I loved seeing the transformation. With the characters – Katie and Ryder, I felt they were perfect for each other. They were like a push/pull force. One cannot happen without the other. An amazing friends to lovers story.
Lori’s writing kept me hooked from the first page. It was super hard to put down. I have just been in the Christmas-book mood, so this worked perfectly! I loved it! It is easily in my Top 5 Favs of 2016.
