Best of 2015

Welcome back! Even though Reads and Treats has only been around since April and I don’t have the whole year… I’m still going to do a Best of post.

2015 was a huge year for my family and I. Many good things happened. I’ll talk about that in another post 🙂

Anyway, in April 2015 I started Reads and Treats as somewhat of a hobby. I figured I’d write a few posts a month, and it’d all be good. Well. I was wrong. I love it wayyy more than I thought I would. I have read more books, I have gained knowledge into the world of eARCs, and I love it. I am so much happier.

Ok, so without further ado… I bring to you.

I still love all these quotes. I’m so glad you guys did too!

Top Ten Tuesday — Book to Movie Adaptions I Need to See
I saw Gone Girl after Thanksgiving! It was just as amazing as I thought it would be! However, because I read the book first (when it came out), I knew what was going to happen. I think that made it better, in some ways. I still need to watch all the others. 1 down, 9 to go.

Bookish Thoughts — South Dakota Edition
Caden and I took a road trip to South Dakota to visit my parents. While on our trip, we traveled up to North Dakota, which put a peg in my state list. If you were to draw a straight line down the center of the US, I have visited every state on the left side of the line.

Creamy Crock-Pot Mac and Cheese
I’m so glad that everyone enjoyed this recipe as much as I did. It was so creamy, and just plain awesome. I have made it a few times since posting it. Sooo delicious!

2016 New To You Reading Challenge
One of my many reading challenges for 2016. I think I have signed up for 4 total, including the annual Goodreads Reading Challenge. Thankfully, all of them allow for cross-over books. So that is good, very good. Wish me luck! I’ll (finally) be updating my challenges page, to include all the books I will have read in 2016 towards these challenges.

2016 New To You Reading Challenge

I surpassed my goal of 100 followers in November. Yay! Thank you guys so much! I love you all! My next goal: 250 followers.

Because I got notified yesterday, but already had this scheduled… I figured I would just slip it into this post. 🙂

Also this:

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,000 times in 2015. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 3 trips to carry that many people.

Click here to see the complete report.

According to GoodReads, I have read 62 books, and a whopping 13,542 pages! That’s 4 less books than last year, but… Almost 4,000 pages more than last year.

So while I did read less books, my average length this year was 266 pages. The Importance of Being Earnest was the shortest book I read with 76 pages. The longest book I read this year was Marriage By Law with 586 pages.

My average rating for 2015 was 3.6 stars.

Need Advice

As I travel into 2016, if you could give me one piece of advice about blogging, what would it be?

Also, what other kinds of things would you like to see on my blog as we move into 2016? Should I try a new feature? Add more pictures into my posts? Post a different kind of post? I welcome all advice and/or criticisms.

You guys are truly amazing. I am thankful for each one of you.
