Addicted – Review
To start… I had a hard time with this book. I didn’t feel like I could click with either character.
I do have to admit, I was disappointed by this book. The synopsis sounded great, but I expected there to be more sex (1 tiny scene — if that) based on the cover and the synopsis.
The main character, Mischa, is obsessed with food. She’s a binge eater. She goes to OA (Overeaters Anonymous) and one day, accident goes to a sex addict meeting, where she meets Liam.
Right off the bat, I didn’t like Liam. During the meeting Mischa walks into, he tells about his latest slip up. Which is normal for those kinds of meeting. However, after the meeting, he approaches her and basically tries to get her to have sex with him. Not even within five minutes of meeting her! I mean, come on. And the descriptions of him don’t make him sound sexy at all. Ugh!
So moving forward. Mischa thinks about food 24/7, goes on a couple binges, becomes obsesses with Liam, even where her boss (ex-teacher and mentor) shows the slightest bit of interest. Then he doesn’t. Her boss is so back and forth, making things even more awkward. Double ugh.
This book just isn’t what I thought. It took me about three weeks to read it. I just couldn’t get into it.
However, I gave it a bit higher rating than I should have because of the happily ever after. That’s it.
Ahh, well. Better luck with the next book!
