Bookish (& Not So Bookish) Thoughts
Welcome! Guys, I’m back!
I’ve been away for a couple weeks.
Did you miss me? 😉 Anyway, life has been busy. You’ll hear about that below!
Thank you, Christine, over at Bookishly Boisterous for hosting this cool weekly meme.
Life over here has been crazy!
♡ Well, guys. I am terribly sorry… Because of life and people not cooperating (yes, I’m looking at you babe)… I never got around to posting my Turkey v Turkey post. It’s kind of a moot point now because Thanksgiving was two weeks ago. Man, has it really been two weeks? Shit.
♡ Anyway, I did take a couple of cool pics. So if you guys want, I’ll still make a post about it. Let me know in the comments below. If not, ask which one won. Oven turkey or deep fried turkey?
♡ I think I said in a previous post that my grammar class ended. I actually enjoyed that class, except for the learning team. Now… I think I would much rather have that insane learning team, than deal with my new class. I’m back to the 3000+ page textbook, different book but still along the same lines. This time, it’s English Literature before 1458. Like the Medieval period, Middle Ages, and Shakespeare. Ahh! I have always been terrible at Shakespeare. It is just not my forte. Help!
♡ Over the weekend, Chris and I finally bought our Christmas tree. I know, Christmas is like three weeks away. Someone is always late 😛 Anyway, we took Caden with us, and he had so much fun helping us pick out the tree! It’s not too tall, so we stuck it on one of the end tables we have. I pulled out the little decorations I had, and my mother-in-law pulled out hers. Caden, myself, and Pam (mother-in-law) decorated the tree while the guys did nothing. I guess the men in the family don’t like decorating. Who can blame them though? 😛 It’s not everyone’s thing. We still had fun.
♡ My book ban is going ok. I slipped a couple times after my last update. There was a book sale at the library in town and Pam wanted to go. So we went, and of course, I bought a couple books. However, this book ban has done exactly what I wanted it to do. It has enabled me to read more ARCs to try to get the list down. In a way, it has worked. In other ways, it has only made me request more ARCs from NetGalley. Oops!
♡ I am addicted to a cooking game on my phone called Kitchen Scramble. Seriously, so addicting. Ahh! I’m already on level 110-something (I think — if not, it’s higher) and I only started about two weeks ago. Do you guys play any fun games on your phone?
♡ I was browsing Pinterest the other day and I came across something about decluttering your life. I can’t find it to save my life now, but it was pretty cool. Basically, on the 1st day, you find 31 things to throw away or donate. On the 2nd day, you find 30 things to throw away or donate. You continue the schedule until you get to the 31st day / 1 thing. The goal is to eliminate clutter and prevent future clutter.
♡ This is going to be one of the first things I do with the New Year. I think if I started it now, I would forget. Case in point, I have forgotten two mornings (so far) to have fun with the advent calendar my mom got for Caden. One morning we were running late, and the other, I just forgot. And he didn’t remind me, which was weird. Anyway. Because the end of the year always seems to be the busiest, it would not be best to start it now. So come January 1st, I am going to take this challenge. I will write a post here and there to talk about it as well. So be sure to look out for it.
Well, I guess that’s about it. What’s been going on in your life? Besides all the hustle and bustle of the holidays!
