Bookish (& Not So Bookish) Thoughts

Happy Thursday!

I’d love to start off with some good news…

♡ I passed my Lit class with a 99.5%! Aww yeah! 63 credits down, 57 left to go.

This weekly meme is hosted by Christine over at Bookishly Boisterous! Head on over and check her out if you haven’t yet.

♡ This week I have really been feeling sluggish on blogging. And reading. Mostly reading. I do have to admit I sort of fibbed on my WWW Wednesday yesterday. I have not finished The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend. However, I am close, about 70%. I just forgot to edit the post Tuesday, and then it posed Wednesday. January started out great, reading 3 books in 2.5 weeks. Then I’m just stuck on RBW. I’m enjoying it, but I feel it’s so slow. Maybe it’s just me and not the book? But I have the tour for the book next week, which means I need to finish it asap.

♡ Speaking of tours, because RBW has taken me so long, I have fallen behind and I have 3 tours (excluding RBW) within the next 2 weeks. I need to hustle my butt and read! I messed up my calendar when I booked the last 2, so now I’m cramming to read the books. Have any of you ever done that? I feel so silly. And stressed.

♡ Plus, I started my new class. It’s a writing class, except it’s not. It’s technically called “Advanced Composition for the English Major”. It’s not too bad so far, and the homework (papers, etc) aren’t too long. So far, I have learned about closed form prose, and touched on open form prose, both forms of an essay.

♡ Is there such a thing as Post-Holiday Blues? I may have mentioned something last week (or the week before) about having a hard time getting back into the routine after the holidays. Well, I’m still struggling. Just a bit though. Home life is decent, it’s just all the extracurricular activities, plus school, that make me blah. I just want to binge-watch Drop Dead Diva, until it’s over. Can I?? 😉

♡ Anyway, I apologize for this post being so text heavy. I don’t have any meme pictures stored, and grah! Yeah. That’s how I feel.

♡ Wish me luck for this upcoming week! For my sluggishness to disappear.

  1. Good luck and congrats for passing!

  2. Congrats on passing! It sounds like a pretty good week 🙂

  3. Congrats on the Lit class! Question, are you taking an online program? What program are you studying? I’ve been out of school for awhile but wanting to go back to get an English degree!

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Thanks! Yeah, all my classes are online. University of Phoenix; I enjoy it. 😀 My degree is in English. I want to go into publishing with it.

      1. That’s fantastic! Do you find it manageable with your lifestyle?

        1. Kendra Kendra says:

Oh yeah. Because it’s online, I can log in whenever I want to. I could go at midnight in my pj’s. I usually go to school while my son is in school (3 hours a day, 4 days a week), then a day on the weekend if I need to catch up. It’s super easy to fit around my schedule. 😀

          1. That’s good to know! I worry about what online programs look like when applying – maybe that’s me overthinking it. I’m at a point where I am looking for a career change and want to make sure I’m on the right track!
