Bookish (& Not So Bookish) Thoughts

Bookish Thoughts

Welcome back to the Thursday meme, where random things happen.

♡ Because of track break, this week has been pretty boring. We haven’t done anything fun, really, except for a mini road trip. I have still had tons of homework. I started a new class on Tuesday: Literary Theory and Criticism. Seriously. Who knew there were so many different kind of theories?! Not me!

♡ Road trip! Chris took Caden and I (in Tangy 😉 ) up to Mount Charleston. It’s not too far from where we live. Omg. The houses! Like cabin in the wood houses. It was amazing! The prices, however, were not. And no, we’re not in the market for a house. But it has been both of our dreams to live in a cabin like house in the middle of nowhere. Outstanding. Annnnd. Mount Charleston gets snow. It’s legit. Even though I hate snow. I could deal with the snow, if it meant I could live in an amazing house in the middle of the woods. Cell service would be terrible, but I’d get a landline (ugh) and deal.

♡ I still can’t get over the fact that I have so many ARCs from NetGalley. Crazy me keeps requesting more. But not from NetGalley. Well sort of. I keep requesting to be part of book tours, and in turn, I get the eARC from NetGalley. Which adds to my total. Help?

♡ I should have another book haul post coming shortly. Maybe 2 weeks ago (?) Pam and I hit up an annual book sale for one of the libraries in town. It was so cool. Hardbacks were $1; Paperbacks were $0.50! I ended up getting 14 books, I think? Yeah, like I really need more books after I just complained about NetGalley, but I couldn’t help it! I actually ended up finding some Rainbow Rowell books, that were on my list! Now I have a copy and can read it, whenever. Yay me! 😀

♡ I am sad to say that my blog calendar is falling short come March. I had tons of posts for the start of the New Year, and it carried into February. But as I was looking up a day for a blog tour, I realized that March is very scarce… So is April. I need blog post ideas! What would you guys like to see on the blog?

♡ Chris and I were talking about spring cleaning the other day. Does the Spring Cleaning season start in March, since the first day of Spring is March 20? Or does it start in April (as in Spring = April, May, June season)? I guess March 20 and April 1st aren’t so far off, but I have a cool semi- spring cleaning post I want to post, but not sure when to start.

♡ I have exactly 1600 books on my TBR shelf on Goodreads…

♡ Logged into Facebook this morning. There are now more buttons than the ‘like’ button. There’s: love, haha, wow, sad, and angry. BUT THERE IS STILL NO “DISLIKE” BUTTON! What is this Facebook? Come on. We need the ‘dislike’ button.

♡ Well, that’s it for this week!

What have you guys been up to? Let me know!

State of the ARC

  1. 1600…on..your…tbr…shelf? *gape* I got 133! I was at 150 and decided I needed to do a readathon to get the number under control! Its awesome that there’s that many books that look interesting to you, though!

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Yeah, I will forever trying to lower that number 😉

      1. Sooo many good books. Soooo little time.

        1. Kendra Kendra says:

Never a truer statement as such. 😀

  2. Avatar Lauren says:

Where I’m at the Spring Cleaning start is basically when it’s warm enough to open the windows and let the dust out. So usually April… or May… thanks Wisconsin.

And wow your TBR! I thought my 110 books were getting out of hand! How do you decide?

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Living in Vegas means heat almost all year round, and tons of dust all year round. It does make Spring Cleaning difficult!

I have no clue how I decide on which books to read first. Lately, the majority of the books have been for tours, but besides that, I mostly just pick whichever cover looks cool and go with it.

  3. Woah! And I thought I had a lot of TBR books at 564! But then again, I think all TBRs should be never ending.

Library book sales are the best! Our library system does a pay-by-height thing where they measure your stack of books and you pay be however many inches your books are. The last book sale we attended I think we got 10 books for $3.

Iʻve never really thought about when spring cleaning starts. I would think March, though, just because come June it already feels like summer.

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Sweet! I would love the pay-by-height thing! That sounds super cool. Our library does $1 and $0.50 books, even without the sales. But the bigger sales always have more books and a bigger selection than normal.

That’s true, I definitely agree about June. Even May, for me, feels like summer!

  4. There’s the angry face on Facebook, so maybe they’re thinking that’s the dislike equivalent?
