Bookish (& Not So Bookish) Thoughts

Bookish Thoughts

Happy Thursday! Happy reading!

♡ That moment when so many books seem interesting, yet you have a stack of eARCs you need to read. Some of which are for blog tours. I really gotta stop doing so many blog tours within the same week! Or two weeks.

♡ Seriously though. I’m taking a Nonfiction Creative Writing class (currently) and we keep talking about nonfiction books. I have never been one to read nonfiction. I mean, I hardly ever watch/read/google the news. Yet, my textbook is making them seem so interesting! We read an excerpt of Dave Eggers’ memoir A Heartbreaking Work of a Staggering Genius. The excerpt is titled “I Could Be Going Out, Sure”. Omg. I can relate to it soooo damn much. Once upon a time, I was a single mother. I relished the thought of going out and partying it up like I was in high school. Then remembered I had responsibilities and no babysitter. Then we watched a YouTube Clip about Eggers and… He. Is. Hilarous! It makes me actually want to pick up his memoir. What is happening to me?

♡ Another one is Joan Didion. And her memoirs. Oh and Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood. We read excerpts from various memoirs of both. Still, I feel the need (and want) to read something of theirs.

♡ So I’m still considering Task It Tuesday. Except I might do it on Mondays, and just link up on Tuesdays. Since Monday starts the week (except it ends my school week). Hmm. I might start it in mid-May…

♡ Speaking of school… I’m taking a little break. It’s only a 3 week break, but it is very much needed. I ended up having to put in a Leave Of Absence, otherwise after 2 weeks the financial aid people will think I dropped out. I guess I have a two week grace period for not posting in the classroom. Oh the joys of online college. 😉 At least I do have the pleasure of taking a break after a class ends, if I need it. So it’s both good and bad.

♡ Chris and I are taking a little mini vacay. Well, technically, I am. In 3 weeks. He’ll be working. He’s going to a work conference and I’m tagging along with him. It’ll be in San Francisco. I’ll take lots of pics!

♡ I’ll have posts scheduled, but I won’t be around much. I promise though, I will return and spam you guys with likes and comments. Plus, replying to comments you guys leave me. I’m so terrible at that lately! I’m sorry guys! 🙁

What are your bookish or not so bookish thoughts this week? Let me know!

I know, right?! Sometimes, it seem wayyyy to busy!

      1. Hopefully you’re not stressed out because of being super busy!

  2. Sounds like you’ve got quite the busy life coming up soon–here’s hoping your sort of mini-vacation is gloriously relaxing and awesome! Soooo jealous, seeing all of you guys posting about upcoming travels, knowing the husband and I’s car is crap and we’re stuck in the same old place. Boo.

MY TIME WILL COME (eventually)! I’ll make sure of it. 😉 Enjoy your trip, and safe travels!

    My Bookish Thoughts

Hopefully you guys will get to go on a vacation soon! Wishing you luck!

      1. Hahaha, doubtful, but thank you!

  3. Enjoy San Francisco! I went last year and loved the place. There’s this really nice cafe called Pat’s Cafe in North Beach not too far from the coast. We went there everyday for breakfast because the food was so good and it was all at a pretty decent price. 🙂

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Cool! I’ll have to try to check it out! Thanks! 😀
