Bookish (& Not So Bookish) Thoughts — South Dakota Edition!

Bookish Thoughts

Hey everyone! I just back from a pretty cool road-trip, as you know from my edition of this meme three weeks ago.

This weeks edition includes pictures. Many, many pictures! Yay!

♡ I have now visited every single state on the left side of the United States. Seriously. Take the state line between North Dakota and Minnesota and follow it all the way down until you reach Texas and Louisiana. I have been to every one. Then add in a bunch on the right side of the line as well. If I count them all, I have been to 31! Ahhh! A life goal of mine is to go to all 50 states. More than half way there!

♡ I have been in 3 places at once! This one is pretty awesome. The post in the picture below is called the Three Corners. The post is literally on the corner of three different states. South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. Freaking amazing. It was so cold, so we did not take that many pictures, but here are a couple.

♡ Speaking of pictures, isn’t this one so adorable! We were stopped at a Sinclair gas station and my son, Caden, wanted to go on the green dinosaur. He loved it!

♡ Oh, my. The first snow of the season! Thankfully, it didn’t stick. But it was sure flurrying like crazy!

♡ Some Halloween monsters that Caden put together. Aren’t they cute? Well, I am a little biased, so it’s ok if you don’t think so.

♡ Oh, and by the way. Since I have never put one up yet… Here is a picture of Caden, wearing his new jacket and his Uncle’s hat.

♡ Oh the school side of things, I finished my short story class with an A! Yess! The grammar class is up next and I’m definitely enjoying it.

♡ NetGalley: I finished two more books. Yay! It’s slowly coming down.

♡ I almost forgot! I had someone reach out to me through e-mail about a book tour! That was so cool as well. It wasn’t one I had signed up for, so my name must be getting out there. Love it!

Anyway, I think that’s it for now. It’s difficult after returning home from a vacation to get back into the normal routine for things. Caden’s back in school now, so that is a little easier. The past two weeks, he kept asking about it and would get mad when he couldn’t go. Poor guy.

How did your week go? Anything excited?!

  1. South Dakota looks like so much fun!

  2. Those little monsters are the cutest!

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Thanks! 🙂 Caden loved them. I’m going to have to buy the turkey ones for Thanksgiving and put them in our front window!

  3. That’s so cool that you’ve been to every state in the U.S.! Also, I kind of like the name Caden. I’ve never heard it before, it’s different but kind of cool! So, I have a question for you. Were you the one I told about the Back to the Future book? I was going to post my review of it on my blog since I’ll be done soon but I don’t know if my readers will care or like the idea since it’s mainly an anxiety blog. What do you think?

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Yeah! Go for it! It’s a great idea! 🙂 it never hurts to have a little something different on your blog.

      1. Yeah, I did it this morning! It seems that people enjoyed it. Feel free to check it out! 🙂

        1. Kendra Kendra says:

          I definitely will! 🙂

    1. Kendra Kendra says:

Aww! Thanks! I will hopefully get to it soon. 🙂 I’ll let you know when I post it.

I love those markers that let you be in three places at once (or equivalent eg. ‘Southern most tip of Australia…)
