Bookish Thoughts

Hi everyone! Welcome back, it’s been a couple weeks.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean that life has been crazy or uneventful. Grah, I wish! Lol. It’s been both!

♡ Good news: I started a new job!

♡ Bad news: I’m now juggling no set hours between my job, school, and home life. This is proving to be quite interesting.

♡ My new position is Company Administrator. I’m in charge of like everything. Ok, well, not everything; just project management, communications, social media, tasks, accounting, errands, and anything else any of the employees need. I am enjoying it so far. I’m using tons of programs I never have before, and I’m actually getting a good handle on it. The only problem is that I’m not set at specific hours. My phone dings for the chat program we have, or I’m doing tasks in a program, or billing, I’m doing it while I’m at home. I love that part though, that I can do everything at home! Unless we need to have a meeting with a client, then I’ll need to go in person. This is only my first week, so we’ll see how I continue with juggling home life and school life at the same time. 🙂 I’ll keep you posted! Haha.

♡ I’m totally falling behind in my books. With 3 author requests, 3 tours, and all the other eARCs, I’m afraid I’m chewing off more than I can eat. I just gotta read faster. I’m doing good on my reading challenges, except for Goodreads. That’s where I’m behind 5 books. :-/

♡ But speaking of reading faster, my textbook is killing me. For this damn Ethics class. Over 200 pages a week. Thankfully it ends on Tuesday, then I’m off for two weeks! I will definitely be using that time to read like crazy. I just need to get better at time management.

♡ Some more good news: my parents bought Caden and I plane tickets for a visit. Yay! So we’ll be spending two weeks in August with them. Right after school ends for Caden, which is good. For blogging/reading, August comes with ARC August, which is basically the same thing that ARC April was. Just the month is changed. I’m hoping I’ll be able to catch up on some reading then too. I’ll still be in school, but it’ll be with an accounting class, so not much reading there.

♡ Here in Vegas, we’ve been dealing with 100*+ for the past week. I think yesterday it hit 118*. Or maybe it was the day before? Either way, super freaking hot. Makes me wish we had snow. Even though I hate snow. I know, I know. There is no pleasing me! Hahaha.

♡ I cannot wait until July 1st. It’s Caden’s birthday! But also because I can finally start using my PERFECT BLOG PLANNER! I’m super excited, for both.

♡ A couple weeks ago, Chris took me out to lunch with his business partner and coworker. I had this out-of-this-world buffalo chicken mac and cheese. I have been craving it so much! Another run to that restaurant might be in order this weekend.

What are some of your thoughts this week? Let me know!

  1. Sounds like life is more than a little interesting for you right now!

I’m reading Patient Zero (J. Maberry), Dead of Night (J. Maberry), The Johnson Project (M. Spence), Analogue (J. Rohrer), and The Archived (V. Schwab), so I’m really just wanting to be able to sit down and finish one of them! The Johnson Project is really interesting… What if the whole world went infertile? What if one family found a way around it? What if having a baby depended on meeting that family’s guidelines? (The guy who figures this out is an IVF doctor, and his family is good peoples, so their guidelines are all very common sense and yes, this is good…but of course people just want to gripe about how it’s not fair and they’re being discriminated against.) ….

I’ve taken on additional responsibilities at work, and as a result I pretty much just want to throw things. people. Things and people. You know.

Sounds like you have a lot of reading to do! The Johnson Project actually does sound interesting 🙂 I hope you enjoy it!

      1. It was…is… One of those books that you immediately insist people read,so you can talk about it with someone. Lots of questions to ask yourself.
