Listen. Are you listening? Listen. Guys…I don’t know what it is, but I have gone through a string of DNF books! In case you are not familiar, DNF is an abbreviation for “Did Not Finish.” Grr. I don’t know what it is, but I have had so many! I am starting to feel like a book snob. In the last couple of weeks, I have DNF’d SIX books. Yes, SIX. I can’t believe it either.
To be fair, some of these were just awful. The writing was choppy and skipped from scene to scene and was ultimately too confusing to read. Others I just could not get into, no matter how hard I tried. Others I gave a fair shot and would get 25-30% into the book and be bored to death. At this point in time, I feel that if I am not entertained that deep into the book, then it probably isn’t going anywhere. Books like that are difficult for me to read because it takes me 3 times as long as a book I am entertained by.
Maybe I am just crazy. Does this happen to you guys? I feel like this was a big chunk of DNF books to have but at the same time, I am fairly new to reading. Okay..that sounds weird. What I am trying to say, is I am fairly new to reading as much as I am now. I have read (and finished) more books this year than the last 7 years combined. Maybe even longer. So, I think I may be still trying to feel my way around the reading world. Haha.
Anyway, here is a list of the books I have DNF’d recently:
Have you guys DNF’d enough books that you want to rant?
