Falling In Love – Poetry

Falling In Love – Poetry

Hey guys! I’m going to show you a poem I wrote, back when I was 13. It was the first poem I got published and to this day, I’m still in love with it. It was published in The Colors of Life by The International Library of Poetry. I had submitted a poem to poetry.com (which has completely changed now), and they picked it to be published in their collection of poetry. Thrilled was the first emotion I felt! I mean, I was only 13 and had only been writing for a few months, and here someone thought it was amazing. So let me know what you think.

Looking back, I am rather glad I talked my parents into purchasing the book that held this beloved poem. We bought two copies, and one will always hold a special place on my bookshelf.

Falling In Love

I fell in love with you
And could never let you go
I can’t live without you
I’ve never known what love was
Until I found you
Your love has swept me off my feet
Into the clouds and beyond
When I looked at you for the first time
All I noticed were your blue eyes
They were full of life
I smiled at the thought of you
When you talk to me
Everything seems perfect
With I’m with you
Nothing can go wrong
Thoughts are spinning in my head
But everything goes away
As you kiss me
Nothing is wrong in this perfect world
I guess this is what it feels like when you are falling in love.

Thanks for reading this poem. I can’t believe it was written so many years ago. When I read it, it feels like it was yesterday. I can feel those feelings so vividly. Besides, I do feel like I captured the essence of teenage love.
