by: Natalie Bennett

Amazon / Goodreads

Synopsis:

The road to hell…
Well, there is no road to hell.
I already live there.

I was forced to partake in a rigged game of seduction, manipulation, and murder.
Mateo Remmington is my formidable opponent.
He makes the devil look like a saint.
He’s immoral.
He’s ruthless.
He’s a goddamn king. King of a clandestine empire who sits on a throne covered in innocents’ blood.

I’ve become his obsession. He’s becoming my deadly addiction.
And if I make one wrong move he’ll end my life.

Queen of Diamonds – Review

What a puzzling thrill ride this was.

Bennett has done it again: a new series, new characters, and a new bad boy you love to hate (and hate to love). I was enthralled with the teasers to this book! The cover is ultra dark and it just sucks you in.

I haven’t been one for mobs/mafia, but a mysterious drug lord who runs a city? Oh, yes. Count me in. Mateo is dark, sexy, and full of secrets, just as a badass drug lord should be.

I enjoyed every second of this book. This is another series I cannot wait to get my hands on. Elena is in for the ride of her life, and I am right there waiting to see how this plays out. This game that is coming… Who knows what will happen? Just let yourself be sucked in and enjoy the ride.

The only thing I would have loved to see is more of the Bennett madness. Queen of Diamonds is definitely dark and twisted, but it does not have the same madness as her other books do. But it does have that certain kill factor (plus the impending doom) that keeps my attention. King of Hearts, come quickly!
