Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Haha, well, I’m not a 100% Book Blogger.. But I do make lots of posts about books in between all my other random posts… So here it is.

The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

1.How long have you been a blogger?

I have been blogging since the middle of April, I believe. So just a couple of months.

2.At what point do you think you will stop?

Honestly, I’m not sure there is an answer to this question. I could stop for many reasons; not enough time, too stressful, can never come up with content…

3.What is the best thing?

New books, and new friends.

4.What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

I think the worst thing is coming up with new stuff all the time. It would be so much better if all I could do was write. If this were my day job, I would excel. However, I continuously read other blogs, and gain ideas from them when I run out of things. I love seeing other blogger’s insights on certain books, or what they are reading and/or writing.

5.How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

Most of the time, not long at all. Google is very resourceful and that is where I get most of my pictures. The ones I take myself, like of the things I have baked or cooked, take a little more time, but not too much.

6.Who is your book crush?

Uh… Hmm. There is quite a few, but I will list one or two. Wes in The Truth About Forever. Okay. So many only one. 😉

7.What author would you like to have on your blog?

There are so many authors I would love to have on my blog. Sarah Dessen, James Patterson, Jude Deveraux, Sue Grafton, Elizabeth Chandler.

8.What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Definitely clothes. Mostly jeans and whatever shirt I picked out for the day.

9.How long does it take you to prepare?

It depends on what I am writing. Just a random post, anywhere from 5-20 minutes, also depending on how long it is. A book review, up to an hour. A recipe, maybe 30 minutes, between writing and pictures.

10.How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

I feel like if I put more effort into reading and writing reviews, I could totally fit in better in the book blogger community. Some of the people I follow, read and write reviews so quickly. I’m just over here like, what am I doing with my life? I love reading and I want to share that love with others. I just have a busy life, especially with a full class schedule, a toddler, and everything else. Reading has just faltered a little lately.

11.What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

I think in order to have a successful blog, you need to put yourself out there. You need to dedicate specific time to put into your blog and make it known. If you create a recipe from scratch, not following any other recipe, but it out there. Make time to write poetry or short stories and feature those on your blog. But the main point is to create time for your blog. Publish on social media sites, get everything hooked together and make sure your content is relate-able to someone out there in the world.

With this tag, I nominate anyone who hasn’t completed it and anyone that wants to. Good luck!
