Top Ten Books I Feel Differently About

Here is the actual topic for this week:

Ten Books I Feel Differently About After Time Has Passed (less love, more love, complicated feelings, indifference, thought it was great in a genre until you became more well read in that genre etc.)

While this seems like a somewhat easy topic for the week, it’s not. The first book that comes to mind is Fifty Shades of Grey. I adore the book, I really do. However, there are aspects of it that would change my rating if I were to reread it. Originally (June 2012), I rated it 5 stars. Now, I would rate it 3. Not because of the subject matter, but because of the writing style. Kinky fuckery is my kind of thing. But if I were to write this book, I would change quite a few things.

Another one is Tampa by Alissa Nutting. I’ve talked about this book before. While I do still think it’s completely messed up and grah, makes me so mad, I think I would feel differently about it if I were to reread it. I’ve talked about it so much… I really want to write a review for it for the blog. Grah, pesky ARCs. I will get to this one day.

Gone Girl. I loved this book. I only rated it 4 stars, but I think that was because the ending pissed me off. I read it back before I was a blogger, so my opinion now has definitely changed. This is also one book that the movie did not do it justice. Ben Affleck is a terrible actor, in my opinion. That being said, the book is a thousand times better and my view on the ending is different now. Sure, it pissed me off, but it was so amazing executed and so twisted, there was no getting around it. Hands down, one of the best books I read in 2013.

CoHo. Finding Cinderella. My love for this book has only grown since I read it. It’s exquisite, it’s soulful, it’s charming. I haven’t had much of a chance to read her other works, but there’s no doubt my love for CoHo will grow.

Wynn In Doubt by Emily Hemmer. This book took me by surprise and I really enjoyed it. I love the clever pun in the title. But it’s so much more than a witty pun. It shows the complicated between Wynn and the doubt that creeps into her life. It is outstanding!

Alright, guys. I tried to make it to ten… I really tried this week.

What are some books that you feel
differently about as time as passed?

State of the ARC

  1. I definitely have my books that time has changed my feelings on. The most stand out one being Miss Peregrine’s Home … that one didn’t even take but a few weeks, if that! My TTT

  2. Avatar Random Reads says:

Lol, your description of Fifty Shades of Grey… I’m glad you at least gave this week’s topic a try. It seemed to be tough for others too!

  3. I think that a lot of people had trouble this week’s topic! I know that I had to tweak the topic a little bit in order to get a list. I’m glad that you were able to make a list! 🙂
